About Cornelis BP

Dreaming of breeding the perfect foal?
Beauty, Versatility, Trainability, and Temperament…… You can have it all…..
We proudly introduce our newly imported Barock Friesian Stallion, Cornelis BP24.
This stunning stallion presents American breeders with never before available opportunities. As demand for this exquisite breed steadily increases, Cornelis provides new blood and unique opportunities not only to further the development of the Barock Pinto Studbook, but to add desired characteristics to offspring of mares whose registries recognize the advantage and versatility of the half or partial breeds.
And it all started with a Dream…….
Born in the Netherlands in 2013, Cornelis, affectionately nicknamed Cupido, was bred and raised by an aspiring young professional, Lianne Koopmans. This rare gem, who possessed an undeniable presence yet a gentle soul, soon stole her heart. Her belief in him was quickly reaffirmed when he was awarded First Premium Status and declared a Stallion Prospect by the Barock Pinto Studbook. In the years prior to his licensing, Lianne dedicated her efforts towards raising a well-rounded, kind and respectful stallion. And in 2016, at the Annual Stallion Show, not only did Cornelis achieve Breeding approval, but also claimed Reserve Champion Stallion among all of the licensed stallions in all age groups. An amazing feat for any stallion, let alone a 3-year-old being presented at his first show. The inspectors later commented that Cornelis was the best behaved Stallion at the show!
We are honored and excited to now be entrusted with the further development of this very special Stallion and to offer his services to American breeders. In Cornelis, we see a horse with the potential to improve and successfully cross with a variety of mares and breeds. His movement, conformation, temperament, and bloodlines, predict unparalleled potential.
Cornelis exemplifies the essence of the Barock Pinto. His pedigree flows from one Legend to another. Through his sire Bontfire, we find the lines of Samber, the only Pinto stallion to ever be approved by the KWPN; Pericles XX, one of the most influential Thoroughbreds in history; Ico Sun, one of the few Pintos to compete at the National Level in Holland; and Ico, named “The Jumping Stallion” for his multiple achievements in the sport. These legacies gift Bontfire and his offspring with the notable characteristics of the modern day sporthorse.
His dam, Tine Sytske Fan Galinga State, bestows the notable and classic traits the endearing Friesian breed is so well known for. Her sire, Lukas, captivated audiences from all over the world with his unsurpassed talent as the “Lord of the Dance” in America’s “The World of Dancing Horses.” His talent was such that he was exported to the Netherlands from American where he stood at stud in 2004, producing highly sought after offspring before returning to the United States. The forefront of Tine’s damline boasts the infamous Anton. Of the KFPS’ finest stallions, to this day he still maintains one of the highest Ster percentage ratings in KFPS history. His spectacular movement, wonderful temperament, and, of course, the Hair…..the flowing locks reminiscent of moonlight glistening atop a river in a fairytale, make this stallion and his offspring a treasure to behold.
As we move forward to develop the Barock Pinto in North America, Cornelis stands as a golden key, unlocking the potential for every breeder to breed horse of their dreams.
